Recently saw 180º South, Chris Malloy’s documentary, which chronicles Jeff Johnson’s six-month journey to the bottom of the globe on a quest to summit Corcovado, a seldom-climbed peak in Patagonia. Based on the travels of Yvon Chouinard and Doug Tompkins, founders of Patagonia and The North Face (respectively) and their 1968 film “Mountain of Storm”. This is my current favorite movie that embodies the journey, and not the destination, while filming some of the most beautiful places on earth.
